What this integration does

The PQ + Pipedrive integration creates deals in Pipedrive automatically when PQ Intel detects a qualified buying signal. Each deal is pre-populated with the prospect's name, company, signal excerpt, platform source, PQ ICP score, and a link back to the full PQ Intel profile. Custom field mapping lets you push PQ-specific data into Pipedrive custom fields, and activity logging records the signal detection as a note on the deal timeline.

This integration is purpose-built for B2B sales teams that rely on Pipedrive to manage their pipeline. Instead of manually reviewing every signal alert and copying data into your CRM, PQ Intel handles the entire workflow — from signal detection to deal creation — with zero manual effort. The integration respects your existing pipeline stages, deal fields, and user permissions, so it fits seamlessly into your current process.

What syncs to Pipedrive

Deal title (prospect name + signal platform), person name and email, organization name, deal value (based on PQ score tier), signal excerpt as deal note, PQ ICP score in custom field, signal platform in custom field, signal timestamp, PQ profile URL, signal count, and a deep-link to the full PQ Intel profile.

Set it up in 60 seconds

  1. 1

    Get your Pipedrive API token

In Pipedrive, go to Settings > Personal Preferences > API. Copy your personal API token — it's a long alphanumeric string. This token authenticates PQ Intel to your Pipedrive account.

Keep this token confidential — it grants access to your Pipedrive data.
  2. 2

Paste the token in PQ Intel

In PQ Intel, go to Settings > Integrations > Pipedrive. Paste your API token and click Validate. PQ Intel tests the connection by fetching your pipeline stages and custom fields.

  3. 3

Create Pipedrive custom fields for PQ scores

In Pipedrive, go to Settings > Deal Fields and add the following custom fields to store your PQ Intel data: PQ ICP Score (numeric, 0-100), Signal Platform (text), Signal Excerpt (text, long), Signal Timestamp (date/time), PQ Profile URL (text), and Signal Count (numeric). These fields enable PQ Intel to write enriched signal data directly into each deal.

Use the exact field labels above so PQ Intel can auto-map them during setup.
  4. 4

Map fields and set deal stage

Choose which Pipedrive pipeline and deal stage new deals should land in. Map PQ fields to Pipedrive custom fields:

PQ ICP Score → pq_icp_score (numeric), Signal Platform → pq_signal_platform (text), Signal Excerpt → pq_signal_excerpt (text)
  5. 5

    Configure activity logging

Toggle Log Activity to automatically create a Note activity on each new deal — containing the full signal excerpt, platform, and timestamp. This gives your sales team full context without leaving Pipedrive.

  6. 6

    Set up activity logging automation

Enable PQ Intel's activity logging automation to keep your deal timeline up to date as new signals arrive. When a prospect triggers additional signals after the initial deal creation, PQ Intel appends a follow-up Note activity to the existing deal — recording the new signal excerpt, platform, and detection time. This ensures your sales team always sees the complete signal history without manually cross-referencing PQ Intel.

Activity logging automation works best when combined with Pipedrive's own email notification rules for deal notes.

Field mapping reference

PQ Intel maps the following signal data fields to Pipedrive custom deal fields. Verify these mappings in your PQ Intel integration settings after creating the custom fields in Pipedrive.

PQ Intel Field Pipedrive Custom Field Key Data Type Description
PQ ICP Score pq_icp_score Numeric (0–100) Composite ICP match score for the prospect
Signal Platform pq_signal_platform Text (varchar) Source platform where the signal was detected (e.g. LinkedIn, Reddit, Hacker News)
Signal Excerpt pq_signal_excerpt Text (long) Full text excerpt of the detected buying signal
Signal Timestamp pq_signal_timestamp Date/Time Date and time when the signal was first detected by PQ Intel
PQ Profile URL pq_profile_url Text (varchar) Deep-link back to the full PQ Intel prospect profile
Signal Count pq_signal_count Numeric Running count of signals detected for this prospect

Common issues & fixes

Deal not created

If PQ Intel detects a qualified signal but no deal appears in Pipedrive, first check that your Pipedrive API token is valid and has not expired. Go to Settings > Personal Preferences > API in Pipedrive to regenerate a new token if needed, then update it in PQ Intel.

Fix: Regenerate and re-validate your API token in PQ Intel.

Field mapping mismatch

If data appears in the wrong deal field or is missing entirely, the custom field keys in Pipedrive may not match what PQ Intel expects. Verify that the custom field labels and API keys match the mapping table above. Field keys are visible in Pipedrive under Settings > Deal Fields when you click a field to edit it.

Fix: Compare field API keys in Pipedrive against pq_* keys in PQ Intel settings.

Duplicate deals

If PQ Intel creates multiple deals for the same prospect, Pipedrive's default duplicate detection may not be sufficient. Enable Pipedrive's deal deduplication feature under Settings > Deal Dedup. PQ Intel also includes its own dedup check based on the prospect email and company name, but Pipedrive-side dedup provides an additional safeguard.

Fix: Enable deal dedup in Pipedrive settings and ensure prospect email is consistently populated.

Permission denied

If PQ Intel returns a 403 error or fails to create deals, the API token's user may lack the necessary permissions in Pipedrive. The token owner needs at least Can edit permissions on deals, persons, organizations, and notes. Check with your Pipedrive admin to verify your user role and permissions.

Fix: Ask your Pipedrive admin to grant deal and contact write permissions to your user.

Frequently asked questions

What data does PQ Intel send to Pipedrive?
PQ Intel sends prospect name, email, company name, deal title, deal value (based on PQ score tier), signal excerpt, signal platform, signal timestamp, PQ ICP score, PQ profile URL, and running signal count. No raw email content, internal Pipedrive data, or unrelated prospect information is ever read or exported.
Does this work with Pipedrive LeadBooster?
Yes. PQ Intel integrates with Pipedrive's standard deal pipeline, which is the same pipeline used by LeadBooster leads. Deals created by PQ Intel appear alongside LeadBooster-generated leads in your pipeline and follow the same stage progression rules. No additional LeadBooster configuration is required.
Can I use multiple Pipedrive pipelines?
Yes. During integration setup, you select which pipeline and deal stage PQ Intel should use. If you need different pipelines for different ICP profiles or signal types, you can configure multiple PQ Intel integrations — each with its own routing rules and pipeline assignment.
How often does PQ Intel check for new signals?
PQ Intel monitors signal sources continuously. When a new qualifying signal is detected, the deal is created in Pipedrive within approximately 60 seconds. Existing deals are updated with new signal data on the same cadence — custom fields and activity notes refresh as fresh signals arrive.
What happens if my API token expires?
If your Pipedrive API token expires or is revoked, PQ Intel will stop creating and updating deals. You will see a connection error in PQ Intel under Settings > Integrations > Pipedrive. Generate a new token in Pipedrive and paste it into PQ Intel to restore the connection. No existing deals or data in Pipedrive are affected.
Is there a limit on how many deals PQ Intel can create?
PQ Intel does not impose a hard limit on deal creation volume, but your Pipedrive plan may have API rate limits. PQ Intel respects Pipedrive's rate limits and will retry automatically on rate-limit responses. For high-volume use cases, we recommend a Pipedrive Advanced plan or higher for generous API rate allocation.

Common workflows

Auto-Deals

Auto-Create Deals from High-Signal Leads

When PQ Intel identifies a prospect with a "Hot" signal (strong ICP match + high-intent buying behavior), it automatically creates a deal in your configured Pipedrive pipeline. The deal title includes the prospect name and signal platform — e.g., "Acme Corp — Hot signal on LinkedIn." The deal value is pre-set based on your PQ score threshold configuration.

Activity Logging

Activity Logging

Every deal created by PQ Intel includes an auto-generated Note activity capturing the full signal excerpt, platform, and detection timestamp. Your sales team sees exactly what the prospect said and where — no need to switch back to PQ Intel to understand the context.

Custom Fields

Custom Field Updates

When a prospect triggers additional signals after the initial deal creation, PQ updates the deal's custom fields — incrementing the signal count, updating the latest signal excerpt and timestamp, and recalculating the composite score. Your pipeline always reflects the freshest signal data.

Permissions & security

Personal API token

PQ Intel uses Pipedrive's personal API token for authentication. This token is scoped to your user permissions — it can only read and write data that you have access to in Pipedrive.

Encrypted storage

Your API token is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and stored in PQ Intel's secure credential vault. It is never logged, cached in browser storage, or exposed in any client-side context.

Write-scoped operations only

PQ Intel only creates and updates deals, persons, organizations, and notes. It never reads your full Pipedrive database, exports existing deals, or modifies pipeline structures, users, or settings.

Audit trail

Every deal created or updated by PQ Intel is recorded in the PQ Intel activity log — including the Pipedrive object ID, sync timestamp, and status. You can cross-reference this with Pipedrive's own change log.
